The residents

Whilst Hurdy Gurdy House caters mainly for those on the Autistic Spectrum, residents with other diagnoses may be admitted (up to 25% of residents) provided that they fit in with the other residents in the home and that their admission is compatible with the broad objectives of the home

We currently have seven residents in the 20 to 50 year age group. One resident is deaf, and some are non-verbal.  We have an Admissions Policy that stipulates that all prospective residents will be subject to a three-month trial period that may be extended.  The decision as to whether or not a prospective resident will be admitted, is made by an admissions committee consisting of trained professionals.
